Jersey Mike's Italian Sub Crack Bread (Will It Slice? Ep. 7)

Ingredients

  • 1 dough ball Urban Slicer Neapolitan Style Pizza Dough
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella
  • Urban Slicer White Pizza Mojo
  • 1 Jersey Mike’s Original Italian Sub in a Tub with all the fixings (or provolone, ham, salami, capocollo, pepperoni, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, oil and vinegar, oregano)

Directions

  1. Make the dough. Mix 1 packet with exactly 1 cup (236g) warm water (75 to 80F). Knead 10 minutes by hand or 8 with a dough hook, form 2 balls and let them rise, covered, 2 to 4 hours.
  2. Stretch it. Stretch one ball into a 13 to 14 inch round on a floured surface.
  3. Make the Crack Bread. Brush with olive oil, cover with mozzarella and give it a good shake of White Pizza Mojo. Bake on a preheated stone or steel at 500F for 8 to 10 minutes, or in a pizza oven at 700 to 900F for 2 to 4 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  4. Cool and split. Let it rest a couple of minutes, then cut it in half down the middle.
  5. Stack it. Pile the meats, cheese and fixings on one half, dress with oil and vinegar, and top with the other half, cheese side down.
  6. Slice it into wedges and serve.
